The world’s largest boutique hotel has been inaugurated in Iranian province of Kerman.
Vakil Caravanserai advertised as the largest Boutique hotel in the world opened on Saturday in Kerman with Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts and a group of provincial officials in attendance.
Mohammad-Mahdi Fadakar, the governor of Kerman said at the opening ceremony of the boutique hotel that Kerman province, despite having five airports and top toursim infrastructure, has not been well-marketed and still relatively unknown in the travel and tourism sector.
Mohammad Ismail Khan Vakil-ul-Mulk, the governor of Kerman at the time, gave the order to begin building the Vakil Caravanserai in the 19th century. It was finished in 1870.
Long-distance travellers may stay at one of the many caravanserais in ancient Iran. Spreading across two stories, the Vakil Caravanserai contains 120 rooms.
The inauguration of the hotel is a major step forward for the tourism industry in Iran. The hotel is expected to provide a much-needed boost to the local economy and help attract more visitors to the province.
